YOUR 11 DAY SAFARI HIGHLIGHT OF UGANDA WILDLIFE AND IT’S NATURE

A 11-day safari in Uganda promises an unforgettable adventure through diverse landscapes and rich wildlife with gorillas, teh Big Five and chimpanzees.

DAY 1: Arrival

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport. You will be welcomed by a GTD AFRIKA TOURS guide who will warmly greet you with a smile in the true land of African hospitality, ‘The Pearl of Africa’. You will be transferred to your pre-booked hotel for accommodation. You will stay in a good lodge with beautiful views of Kampala city.

Destination: Kampala.

DAY 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Your guide, who is also a driver, will pick you up from the accommodation, and you will head out to Murchison Falls National Park. You will have a chance to view lions, giraffes, hartebeests, buffalo, and many more.

You will have at least one hour of chimp tracking while here. Another stop will be in Masindi to enjoy lunch, and then continue to the park and check into your accommodation to relax for the evening.

DAY 3

This morning, we will start our day with an early morning game drive on the northern banks where vibrant wildlife roams the savanna plains.

We expect to see much spectacular wildlife including but not limited to elephants, huge giraffe herds, oribis, kobs, bucks, hartebeests, buffalo, lions, leopards, hippos, and much more.

Our game drive will lead us to the jetty for an afternoon boat cruise. After the two-hour boat cruise and while at the bottom of the Nile, you shall disembark from the boat and hike or walk to the top of the Falls.

Watch the 50-meter-wide river being reduced to a 6-meter gap and falling 45 meters down, creating a thunderous waterfall. The driver shall drive around and pick you up at the top of the Falls, crossing the Nile towards the lodge.

DAY 4: Road Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

On this day, we will transfer to Kibale National Park.

This seemingly long but interesting drive will take us through the Lake Albert escarpment with superb views, discover the rural areas of Uganda, and lush green vegetation with tea plantations.

We should be able to arrive around 3-4 o’clock, depending on our driving and the nature of the terrain. Drive 6-7 hours through the typical rural areas. We will also have a lunch picnic break along the way.

DAY 5: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Swamp Walk

You will track the most famous inhabitants of Kibale National Park, the chimpanzees. The chimpanzee trekking experience is done on several well-maintained walking trails.

There is also a beautiful diverse concentration of other primates, more than any other forest in East Africa. Besides chimpanzees, you can also spot red colobus, black and white colobus, white-nosed monkey, singing birds, and much more like bush babies and others.

You may also get a chance to spot nocturnal creatures. After the trekking, you will have a guided walk through the Bigodi Swamp.

DAY 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, your journey continues to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a medley of wonders. You will enjoy views of several crater lakes and the mystical Rwenzori Mountain ranges on your way.

On arrival in the park, you shall have a small game drive as you continue to the lodge for lunch and a boat cruise at the Kazinga Channel. This boat offers you great and amazing photo sessions in a wonderfully relaxed way with lots of beautiful birds on the shores.

DAY 7: Wildlife Safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park

The animals in their different families, clans, and groups as they start their day. You will notice the difference between the animals in their natural habitat and those caged in zoos.

You will have a game drive in the Kasenyi Plains. You will proceed to Ishasha, well known for the tree-climbing lions, and search for them with the help of game rangers. Your lunch will be at the lodge.

DAY 8: Transfer to Bwindi National Park

On this day, you will start the journey to the home of the gentle giants of Bwindi. This fulfilling journey will take you through the Kigezi Highlands, well known as ‘the Switzerland of Africa’,

with great, amazing green terraced hills. Lunch will be along the way, depending on the time of arrival. You will relax at the lodge as you prepare for the next day’s trek.

DAY 9: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi National Park

On this day, you will be meeting the gentle giants of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, ‘The Ultimate Gorilla Experience’.

You will enjoy the fullness of the impenetrable forest with several species of singing birds, butterflies, mammals, and primates. With the help of your guide, who is a park ranger, you will find yourself face to face with the rare lovely mountain gorillas. The trekking experience will give you everlasting memories.

You can have only one hour with the gorillas to capture your finest pictures. For those not interested in gorilla tracking, there is an option for a guided community village walk or a short guided forest walk.

DAY 10: Lake Mburo National Park

On this day, we will have an early breakfast and set off to Lake Mburo National Park, ‘The Whispers of the Wild!’

We will have a day game drive and nature walk in the park with the help of a game ranger. You will see giraffes, different plant species, elands, beautiful birds, and much more. You can also have a night game drive for nocturnal spotting.

DAY 11: Transfer to Entebbe for Connecting Flight

After an early breakfast, we will drive back to Kampala/Entebbe for your flight. We will have a stopover at the Uganda Equator for picture moments and lunch.

This day is reserved for flights through Entebbe International Airport. If you request a post-night, please let us know in advance.
